The Golf Club at Devils Tower
Description
A Legacy Born from Vision
The Golf Club at Devils Tower represents the visionary legacy of the Neiman family – James S. and Jim D. Neiman – whose generations-deep roots in eastern Wyoming logging and ranching created the foundation for something extraordinary. Living in the shadows of Devils Tower National Monument for generations, they recognized an opportunity to blend their family’s connection to the land with world-class recreational facilities.
The Neiman family has expressed their appreciation for what makes small-town Wyoming special – the absence of big city problems like air pollution, noise, traffic, and endless concrete. However, they also saw value in bringing certain big city amenities, particularly a professional-quality golf course and convenient airport access, to their beloved community.
Championship Excellence Meets Western Heritage
What emerged is a championship-level 18-hole golf course that serves as the centerpiece of a remarkable recreational destination. The stunning clubhouse, opened in 2019, celebrates the area’s rich history while showcasing modern amenities. Built around an authentic 1890s bar and constructed primarily with locally-harvested Ponderosa Pine from the Neiman’s own Hulett sawmill, the facility seamlessly blends historical charm with contemporary functionality.
The 6,000-square-foot main level maximizes efficiency and flexibility, expanding from intimate 60-patron gatherings to grand 200-guest celebrations. The bar area anchors the clubhouse with an elevated outdoor deck overlooking a fire pit and the 10th and 18th holes – creating the perfect backdrop for both casual visits and special events.
More Than Golf: A Complete Experience
Beyond the championship course, members and visitors enjoy diverse amenities including a regulation skeet range, over 1,000 acres of recreational opportunities, and adventures ranging from hunting expeditions to fly fishing. The convenient Hulett airfield allows visitors to go “from Tarmac to Tee in 10 minutes,” while abundant trails offer photography opportunities showcasing native plants and wildlife under breathtaking starlit skies.
Welcoming Everyone
General Manager Kelvin Johnson emphasizes their community commitment: “We invite everyone to enjoy our offerings. Whether you’re a local resident, a traveler exploring Devils Tower, or a biker journeying through these beautiful landscapes, our doors are open to provide a dining experience like no other.”
The 77 Steakhouse & Saloon delivers exceptional dining with western spirit, featuring bold, upscale American cuisine in a relaxed, rustic setting. Open to members, guests, and the public, they’re famous for Friday and Saturday night Prime Rib and handcrafted signature desserts available for dine-in or to-go.
Membership Options for Every Need
The Golf Club offers various membership options designed for both individuals and businesses, providing unlimited course access, exclusive member events, and business networking opportunities. Contact Andy Bears at andy.bears@devilstowergolf.com or 307-467-5773, ext 7, for membership information.
Building Community Legacy
Unlike typical developers, the Neiman family invests personal pride in both The Golf Club at Devils Tower and Hulett’s surrounding community – because this is their family home. With lodging available on-property, additional accommodations being added, and home building sites available, they’re creating opportunities for others to make their home under Wyoming’s big western sky.
Chamber Partnership Perfect
The Neiman family has noted their belief that their location truly offers something special and unique. This philosophy aligns perfectly with our Chamber’s mission to celebrate and promote the distinctive qualities that make our Northern Black Hills community special.
